Meals: Breakfast (Lunch & Dinner not included)
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your accommodation. You will embark on a two and a half hour drive on well-maintained roads to Tarangire National Park. The park is named after the Tarangire River, which provides essential water sources for wildlife during the dry season. Here, you can witness the gatherings of elephant families by the river, as well as spot other animals like giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. Predators such as lions and leopards can also be seen in the park. Tarangire is well-known for its impressive bird species diversity and ancient Baobab trees. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before heading to your accommodation in Karatu.
Following breakfast, you will journey to the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the awe-inspiring sight of Ngorongoro Crater, a natural reserve filled with savannah, acacia woodlands, lakes, and swamps. The crater, which was formed when a large volcano collapsed, is famous for its geological wonders and is home to a wide range of wildlife, including wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 bird species. This is also one of the best places to spot the endangered black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor before returning to your accommodation in Karatu.
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park, located 120km west of Arusha. Despite its smaller size, the park offers a diverse range of wildlife and landscapes. The picturesque park features the Great Rift Escarpment looming over Lake Manyara, which is home to numerous wading birds, including flamingos. Keep an eye out for baboons and elephants in the lush forest and don’t miss the opportunity to spot the renowned tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before bidding farewell to your guide. You will be dropped off at a location of your choice, such as Arusha, Kilimanjaro Airport, or Arusha Airport. We sincerely hope you have enjoyed your extraordinary adventure with Zepisa African Safari!
As hunting is strictly prohibited in all the National Parks, this means Tanzania has one of the highest densities of wildlife. Higher park fees keep the number of visitors relatively low and so there is a more exclusive experience. All safaris in Tanzania are conducted with 4×4 off-road vehicles unlike other countries that use small family cars and this makes the experience all the more memorable
Expect familiar food with occasional local touches. Most lodges will offer buffet-style dining whilst others may have set menus. If you have any dietary requirements we can accommodate these for you but please let us know in advance. If you are out driving during the day, your driver will take a packed lunch for you.
The different National Parks – Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro – may look close on a map, but there is a considerable amount of driving between each location. Approximate driving times are listed below. While this gives you the opportunity to see more of the Tanzania countryside – look out for Maasai villages beside the road, children tending their herds of goats and cattle, and roadside markets – you will not see any game during these transit times.
We would recommend being up and early for a game drive – around 6am as this time is cooler in the day, the animals are most active, you get ahead of the other tourists and since the park fees are paid by day (end of day being 6pm) then leaving early means you can get the most out of the day. However, as we provide you with a completely customisable itinerary, you are free to choose your schedule depending on your comfort.
Our safari vehicle can accommodate up to 7 people. Every vehicle will have a rooftop and sliding windows for better viewing experience
